GREATER MILWAUKEE POWER LEAGUE

LEAGUE OVERVIEW

Greater Milwaukee Power League (GMPL) is a developmental Middle School Youth Volleyball League that allows all participants the opportunity to learn and play volleyball in an organized structure. Teams will be matched up with other teams with similar experience and competition level to ensure that all players are challenged appropriately. The season will culminate with a final ‘Bracket Championship’ following the same format as prior weeks.

FORMAT

In order to keep on schedule, all sets will start at a score of 4-4. The 1st and 2nd sets will be played to 25, win by 2 with a cap at 27. The 3rd set (if necessary) will be played to 15, win by 2 with a cap at 27. All matches will have a 50 minute time limit, unless playing a decisive 3rd set.

 

For 6th grade only, the team will play 2 matches per weekend. The score keepers and line judges will be parents from the teams that are playing. 

 

7th & 8th will have 3 matches per weekend, and 7/8th Combo will have 2 matches per weekend. All 3 teams will have players as scorekeepers and line judges.

8th Grade Girls: Saturdays 8am-2pm - Milwaukee Sting Center & Center Court

7th Grade Girls: Saturdays 3pm-9pm - Milwaukee Sting Center & Center Court

6th Grade Girls: Sundays 12pm-4:30pm - Milwaukee Sting Center & Center Court

7/8th Combo: Sundays 10:30am-2:30pm - OAW Indoor Sports Complex

2024 LEAGUE DATES

Saturdays: 9/7, 9/14, 9/28, 10/12, 10/19

Sundays: 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/13, 10/20

The score for each game begins at 4-4, playing the best 2 out of 3. The first two games are to 25, with a cap at 27. The third game is to 15, with a cap at 17.​

ADMISSION

Admission to any GMPL event is cash only. A Family Season Pass is $30. It is good for all 11 days of play at both locations for up to 2 adults & 3 High School students. Families will receive a family pass card on the day of purchase that must be shown upon entry. A One Day Pass is $5 for adults, $2 for seniors and high school students. Children 13 and under are free.
